detective. He is hit with problems every step of the way through making this movie. The director
Bobcat Goldthwait uses a megaphone even when he is close to the cast. The other cast members
keep making trouble for Karavello. But he continues on to finish this movie.
This film is 10 years in the making and turns out it is a fake. The entire cast, crew and back lot all
know it is a fake. There are more people in on this joke than you can imagine, yet Karavello seems
oblivious to it being a joke.
After the screening of this film Bobcat Goldthwait did a Q & A about the film. This was in impromptu Q
& A. He came back from a filmmaker’s luncheon at the request of one of the CineVegas people and a
few fans to do the Q & A. He graciously consented. I took a photo of him after he had agreed to do
the Q & A in the pressroom.
He said he felt sorry for what they (Goldthwait and Jimmy Kimmel) did to this poor man (meaning Perry
Karavello). He told us how Karavello believed everything they said. Which is hard to believe if you
ever get a chance to see this film. I am not 100% sure if that was true, but if so then this film is even
funnier than ever. Goldthwait said the other actors were in on the prank and all gave Karavello such
a hard time while he was trying to make this, what he believed, to be a real film.
This is one very funny film and I enjoyed it, specially when we find out it is all a joke on Karavello.
